John Heath

Mayor John Heath was raised in Montana.  He attended schools in Billings Montana and studied Business Management at Eastern Montana College and Mount Sac College – in Pomona California.

A dedicated family man, Mayor Heath is married to the love of his life, Cheryl.  They are the proud parents of 3 children.  John has been actively involved with area youth service as a volunteer soccer coach at the YMCA and President of the Sheridan Junior High PTO.

Since moving to Sheridan in 2005 Mayor Heath has served on the Fire Civil Service Commission, the City of Sheridan Design Review Board, he currently serves as Chairman of the SAWS Board as well as the Sheridan Educational Economic Development Authority.

Mayor Heath worked in the real estate industry for 25 years and prior to that had extensive experience in manufacturing and the food service industry managing large successful restaurants with over 200 employees and multimillion dollar budgets.

John was appointed to the Sheridan City Council in 2009 and re-elected in 2010.  He has served admirably as President of the City Council and was appointed to serve the position of mayor when prior Mayor Kinskey exited the position to fill the Senate seat left vacant by the untimely death of Senator John Schiffer.

“Sheridan is an absolutely wonderful community and it is my great pleasure to serve as Mayor.  I am excited about the future of our community.  Mayor Kinskey did the heavy lifting and his shoes will not be easy to fill. I am committed to carrying out the work he began and remain committed to the initiatives we have set forth in the past several years.  Diversification of our economy will ensure slow, steady growth so that our citizens can enjoy good paying jobs with good benefits.  We will continue to focus on infrastructure.   We will continue to focus on our pathways, parks, open space and creek restoration – – all crucial to our quality of life.  Keeping our community a safe place is of paramount importance and caring for our seniors remains a high priority as well.”

“Building relationships is key – – my door is always open and I welcome your comments and suggestions.”
