Preserving Sheridan’s Quality Of Life

In Sheridan, we are blessed to live in one of the best communities in the United States.  In fact, we’ve been cited as the “Number One Western Town” in America.  Our Main Street has been recognized as one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the United States by the National Planning Association.

There are many reasons why the people of Sheridan love this community, including wide open spaces, opportunities to go fishing, hunting or camping in the mountains, safe streets, a beautiful downtown, and great schools.  These things help to create a tremendous sense of community in which we wish to preserve.

Our goal is to keep and enhance what we have while making sure we create opportunities for our young people to stay here if they choose.

To that end we have a number of initiatives underway to preserve and enhance our quality of life including:

  • Save the Goose Creeks – restoring water quality, fisheries and preserving lands adjacent to creeks threatened by development
  • Maintaining Sheridan’s beautiful downtown
  • North Main Revitalization Initiative
  • Pathway system extension
  • Historical Preservation
  • Maintaining the safety of our community and the small town feel
  • Infrastructure Repair
  • Outdoors
  • Safe Community
  • Small town “feel”
  • Education
  • Foundations
  • Parks
  • Bike/Walking Paths

People in Sheridan feel strongly that we want to grow in opportunity while maintaining what makes this such a tremendous place to call home.
